White Christmas is based on the beloved, timeless film, this heartwarming musical adaptation features 17 Irving Berlin songs and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake. Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil’s former army commander. With a dazzling score featuring well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean” and the beloved title song, White Christmas is an uplifting, wholesome musical full of joy and goodwill.

ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER
Wavestage is seeking qualified non-union applicants to serve as Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) for the 27th season. Candidates must possess exceptional organizational and computer skills. Candidate must be self-motivated, organized, collaborative, a fast learner, positive and professional. The ASM is part of the management team of the production and should set an example in punctuality and professionalism.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Director, StageManager and Production Staff with all responsibilities, including attending production meetings, running rehearsals, clerical organization, and ensuring the smooth execution of the performances
Prior to first rehearsal, ASM will assist the SM in taping out the floorplan, distribution/copying of scripts, pulling and organizing rehearsal props and furniture, and any needed clerical responsibilities
Assist SM in ensuring the stage or rehearsal space is organized, cleaned and ready, including sweeping, setting up furniture, set pieces, and props
SM may ask the ASM to contact company members that are late
Notate blocking through a standard and approved method
ASM will be required to manage stage left during performances
Ensure safety protocols are met on the deck for actors and crew members
Have complete understanding of the placement and movement of scenic pieces and props for rehearsals and performance.
Help the SM ensure that post rehearsal and performance spaces are reset
Other duties as assigned by the SM. Must be available for all rehearsals and show week hours.

It is imperative to the success of this production that everyone involved is able to give it their full attention and time. That said, if you do audition and are cast, the artistic team promises that your time will not be wasted. We will do the utmost to make sure we maximize rehearsals and that the rehearsal process and the performances will be artistically challenging and enjoyable.
