21st Season Audition Requirements
The remaining 21st Season productions have been revealed! We will be producing Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Wizard of Oz, and Gypsy, and are thrilled to be sharing these productions with our audiences.

GENERAL AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Please come prepared with 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song of your choice. Song should display both acting and vocal abilities. If auditioning for specific characters, please also prepare the requested musical number (listed below). Please bring accompaniment tracts (on CD or iPod) or sing acapella. It is essential that you also bring a headshot and recent resume. You should arrive 5 minutes prior to your booked audition time.

- DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS -
Lawrence Jameson: (M, 40-60) Actor, singer, good dance/movement with distinguished, cultured physical style. Needs to be able to affect Middle European and German/Austrian accents at different points in the show (will have to sing with Austrian accent). G2 - Bb4 (Baritone/Tenor). SING: "Give em what they want" and the end of "Dirty Rotten Number"
Freddy Benson: (M, 20-37) Actor, singer, good dance/movement/physically active, high energy. This actor also plays the part of a wheelchair confined vet and Lawrence’s crazy younger brother Ruprecht. A2 - B4 (Tenor). SING: the end of "Dirty Rotten Number" and "Great Big Stuff".
Christine Colgate: (F, 20-35) Actor, singer, some dance/movement with sweet innocent look and appeal (needs both a standard American and a Brooklyn accent). A3 - F#5 (mid voice singer). SING: "Here I Am"
Andre Thibault: (M, 30-55) Actor, singer, some dance/movement with distinguished, business like persona. Needs to be able to affect a French accent. F2 - F4 (Baritenor). SING: "Like Zis Like Zat"
Muriel Eubanks: (F, 35-55) A wealthy socialite, one of Lawrence's victims, and Andre's love interest. Actor, singer, some dance/movement with distinguished, wealthy air. E3 - C5 SING: "What was a Woman to Do"
Jolene Oakes: (F, 20-40) An American oil heiress from Oklahoma vacationing on the French Riviera. New money — think of a combination of Ado Annie / Gertie (from “Oklahoma!”) having recently won the lottery. Actor/Singer/good dancer/movement, spunky high energy Southern firecracker. A3 - D5 (Alto). SING: "Oklahoma".
Lenore, Sophia & Renee: (F, 17-35) Wealthy socialites, and Lawrence's victims. Gerard: (M, 24-35) Renee’s Jealous Husband. Ensemble roles: Croupier, Conductor, Waiters, Nun, Hotel Manager, Maids, Nikos, Usherettes, Socialites.

Dorothy: (F, 13-20) Prepare Somewhere Over the Rainbow from "Someday I'll wish upon a star”
Wicked Witch of the West/Miss Gulch: (F, any age) Archetypcial Villain. Show us you can be the witch. If auditioning for the Witch please indicate this to us so that we can send you script for a monologue.
Professor Marvel/Wizard: (M, 40+) If auditioning for the Wizard please indicate this to us so that we can send you script for a monologue.
Scarecrow/Hunk: (M, 16-30) Must be agile with strong comic skills and charismatic. SING: "If I Only had a Brain". Must be able to to demonstrate the famous choreo skip of Follow the Yellow Brick Road.
TinMan/Hickory: (M, 40-70) Sing: "If I only had a heart". Must be able to to demonstrate the famous choreo skip of Follow the Yellow Brick Road.
Lion/Zeke: (M, 16-50) Must be able to to demonstrate the famous choreo skip of Follow the Yellow Brick Road. A gruff but loveable man with great charisma. Sing "If I were the king of the forest".
Uncle Henry: (M, 35-60). Auntie Em: (F, 40-65)
Glinda the Good Witch: (F, 15-35) prepare any soprano, ingenue-type song.

Ensemble Munchkins and Ozians will be cast from the Showbiz Academy and Showstoppers programs. Ozians, Poppies, Jitterbugs and Monkeys will be cast from StageDoor Players. Mama Rose: (F, 40-60) Should be a Strong Mid voice singer with good low notes and belt. Sing "Everything's Coming up Roses"
Louise: (F, 18-35) Mezzo (needs a light sound for "Little Lamb" and belt for "Let Me Entertain You"). Needs to be comfortable with stripping. Sing "If Momma Was Married"
Baby Louise: (F, 8-14) Personable singer with a pretty singing voice and good speaking ability.
Dainty June: (F, 16-24) Mezzo/Alto (should be flexibile and have dance experience). Sing "If Momma Was Married". A flat to D.
Baby June: (F, 6-12) strong dance/performance skills. Sing "Let Me Entertain You"
Tulsa: (M, 18-30) High Baritone/tenor with strong dance skills. Sing "All I Need is the Girl".
Newsboys/Farm boys: (M, age 18-28) LA, Yonkers, Angie, + 2 or 3 extra ensemble Young Newsboys: (M/F, age 7-13)
Herbie: (M, 40-60) strong Baritone/tenor charismatic.

YOUTH PROGRAM BREAKDOWN
Children and teens under the ages of 18 must be registered for our 2015/16 youth programs to participate in MainStage company productions. Youth programs provide participants with the triple-threat skills to succeed in our MainStage company productions, through weekly classes that focus on a variety of skills relevant to each age group. Here is the breakdown of what each term will consist of for program participants:
SHOWSTOPPERS Term One: The Wizard of Oz (Munchkins and Ozians) Term Two: 101 Dalmatians (children's production, many role opportunities)
SHOWBIZ ACADEMY Term One: The Wizard of Oz (Munchkins and Ozians) Term Two: Audition will determine casting in either 101 Dalmatians (kids production) or Gypsy (MainStage adult production).
STAGEDOOR PLAYERS Term One: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and/or The Wizard of Oz. Term Two: Gypsy
