"Curtains up! Light the lights!" It's opening night of Gypsy at Newmarket Theatre! Don't miss this spectacular Wavestage production about the infamous stage mother, Mama Rose, and her search for stardom for her children! Featuring Louisa Burgess Corbett as Mama Rose.
Show week is upon us! We open our production of Gypsy this Friday, April 22nd and run until the 24th. Everything’s coming up roses with this classic musical based upon the autobiography of striptease artist Gypsy Rose Lee. Gypsy centres upon Mama Rose, the consummate stage mother who prods and pushes her daughters June and Louise into a vaudeville career at any cost in order to fulfill the dream of stardom she never achieved herself.
"Let me entertain you", they scream! Our April 2016 production of Gypsy features two alternating casts of "Baby's", both with tremendous talent and sparkle! Today we are thrilled to give you a sneak peek behind-the-scenes and an opportunity to get to know the four young ladies who will take on these iconic roles later this month.
The remaining 21st Season productions have been revealed! We will be producing Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Wizard of Oz, and Gypsy, and are thrilled to be sharing these productions with our audiences.
